Self-Care: A Pathway to Understanding Your Desires and Finding Clarity

We’re a couple weeks away from Q4 and I must say, I am so ready for this year to be over! 😅 I mean, overall things are going extremely well, considering. But I just feel like this year is moving at a snail’s pace, yet somehow the weeks and months are flying by faster than ever and I don’t have the time to get done nearly half of the things on my to do list. (That’s how I know time is a social construct, but I digress.) So in order to prevent low vibrations and negativity I’ve been doing different self-care routines.

I tried a raw, vegan cleanse hoping it would clear some of my brain fog- and let me just tell you it did not go as planned. Not to be gross, but no matter how much water I had during those two weeks the movements were just not flowing (And I’m a pretty regular girl)! Which made my over-analytical brain start questioning if there might be something seriously wrong with me. But instead of going down that slippery slope I just went back to my normal routine, which cleared everything up, and started using the brain dump exercise from my new journal, 90 Days to My Best Self.

Check out 90 Days to My Best Self here.

And let me just say, I really do love how I can always rely on the resources I’ve created to help. The key for me is just finding the right one! So, in the event you’ve been feeling ornery and overwhelmed like me here’s a few reasons to try out the exercises in this journal.

The Importance of Setting Goals

As entrepreneurs, employees and even stay-at-home parents, goal setting is an integral part of our lives. The purpose of establishing goals is to give ourselves direction and purpose. They act as a guiding light, leading us towards success and sometimes recognition and affirmation. It's not just about achieving a specific outcome; it's about the process and the journey that leads us there. Through the journey of setting our goals and checking them off our lists, we learn more about ourselves, our strengths, weaknesses, and what truly matters to us, and can therefore understand what can help lead us to genuine happiness and peace.

The True Meaning of Self-Care

In today's fast-paced world, self-care has become a buzzword and trend. However, it's essential to understand that self-care is not just about indulging in luxurious baths or going on extravagant vacations. It's much more profound and encompasses several aspects of our lives. It's about taking care of our physical, mental, and emotional health. It's about giving ourselves the love, respect, and care we deserve while also being patient with ourselves and understanding we are not super-humans or AI characters. We can only accomplish so much in a day without needing to rest and recharge. Therefore, the theory of self-care at its core is about understanding our needs and setting boundaries so that when we are frustrated or annoyed our negative emotions don’t bleed onto others unnecessarily.

Finding Clarity Through Writing

If you haven’t realized it yet, life can sometimes feel like a whirlwind, making it challenging to find clarity. Personally, I sometimes feel like I’m on autopilot, or as if I’m not even the one in control. However, one powerful tool that can help us navigate through this chaos is writing in a journal. As long as privacy is not an issue, journaling allows us to express our thoughts, feelings, and emotions freely. It gives us a space to reflect on our experiences, understand our reactions, and gain insights into our behaviours and patterns. Through journaling, we can find clarity, unravel our thoughts, and make sense of our experiences.

I hope this helps! And if you’re interested in the all-in-one journal I created and also use myself, click here to purchase a copy from Amazon.
